Driving Licence Status – Check DL & RC Online

Below is the procedure that must be followed to check the application status of driving licence online:

1. Visit the Parivahan Official Website

1. Click on ‘Driving Licence Related Services’ under the ‘Online Services’ tab. 
2. Select the concerned state from the drop-down menu  
3. Click on the "Application Status" tab present at the top-right. 
4. Enter the details required like, "Application Number", "Date of Birth", and "Captcha". 

1. Click on "Submit". 
2. Once you submit the information, you will see the status of your driving licence application on the screen.

Check DL Status Offline

You can visit your Regional Transport Office (RTO) to check the status of your driving license. Here is the procedure that must be followed to check the dl status on the official website of the RTO:

1. Visit the state-specific official website of the transport department.

1. Click on ‘Check the status of your driving licence’.
2. Enter date of birth, DL number, and your state.

Note:

1. The website varies depending on the state. To check the status of your driver's licence, go to the right page based on the state you applied in.

1. RTO dispatches your driving licence roughly after 2 weeks from the time you have cleared your DL test.

1. Under the "Online Services" tab, click on the "vehicle-related services" tab. 
2. Select the state name from the drop-down menu. 
3. Select the RTO from the drop-down menu and click on "Proceed". 

1. Enter the "Registration Number" and click on "Submit". 
2. Click on the "Status" tab present on the top-right of the website. 
3. Select the "Know your application status" from the drop-down menu. 
4. Enter your "Application No." and submit on "Click" 
5. Click on "View report" after this to see RC status.

Check RC Status with Vehicle Number

Follow the below-mentioned process to check the RC status with the vehicle number:

1. Visit the Parivahan Official Website
2. Hover the mouse on "Online Services", select "Know your vehicle details" from the drop-down menu. 
3. Enter the vehicle number and captcha. 

1. Click on "Search Vehicle" button. 
2. You can check all the RC related details displayed on the next page.

Points to Remember When Checking Driving Licence Status

Keep in mind the below listed points when checking the driving licence status:

1. Use the Official Website: Always check the status on the official Parivahan website (https://parivahan.gov.in) or your state’s RTO website.
2. Keep Your Application Details Ready: Have your Application Number, Date of Birth, and Captcha Code handy for quick access.
3. Processing Time: It generally takes 2-4 weeks for the RTO to process and dispatch your driving licence after clearing the test.
4. State-Specific Variations: Different states may have separate portals for checking DL status, so ensure you're using the correct one.
5. RTO Visit Alternative: If online status is unavailable, you can visit the concerned RTO with your token or application number for updates.
6. Regular Status Updates: The status may change frequently, so check periodically if your licence is under processing.
