This app is officially maintained by the Election Commission of India and ensures secure access to your voter data. 

Search for your Voter ID Card Online

Follow the steps mentioned below to search for your voter ID card online

Step 1: Visit the Electoral Search website. This website saves all voter's information after 2 or 3 weeks of them applying for a Voter ID Card.

Step 2: On the homepage of the website, you will have two options to find out your details. The first method is to type your Epic Number and the second option is to search by filling in your personal information.

Step 3: If you choose the first option, you will be required to enter your Epic Number, State, and the Security Code displayed on the screen and click on "search". If you are a registered voter, your details will be displayed on the screen.

Step 4: You can also choose the "Search by details" option and enter details like your full name, age, date of birth, states, district, and your constituency and click on "Search" to find your Voter Identity Card details. If you are a registered voter, your details will be displayed on the screen.

Search for your Voter ID Card via State Election Website

If you aren't able to find your details on the Electoral Search website, you can try visiting your state election website. Every state in India has a CEO website which saves voter's information.

Step 1: Visit your state election website.

Step 2: Enter basic details like your name, father's name, and Voter ID Card number and click on the "Search" button.

Step 3: Once you have clicked on the "Search" option, you will see a list of profiles that match the information you provided.

Step 4: Choose your name and click on it to find detailed information.

If you are unable to find your Voter Identity Card details online, visit the nearest electoral office.

How to Correct Name in Voter ID Details Online?

Here are the following details that can be changed online: 

The following are the steps to change name in the voter ID card online: 

1. Visit the official website of the National Voters Services Portal (NVSP) 
2. Enter username and password to register yourself 
3. Log in in case if you are existing member 

1. Select "Correction in Electors Details" 
2. Click on Form 8 
3. Enter the following details in the new page: 

1. State Assembly or Parliamentary Constituency 
2. Name, age, part number of the electoral roll, and gender 

1. Enter the family details, such as father, mother, spouse 
2. Residential address 

1. Upload the required details, such as passport, PAN, and others 
2. To edit or change details, click on ‘My Name’ option 
3. Enter residential city, date, mobile number, and email ID 

1. Verify the details and click on ‘Submit’ to update the name in voter ID 

Note: Voter will be informed through mobile number once the application is processed and verified. 

How to Correct Address in Voter ID Details Online?

The following are the steps to change address in voter ID: 

1. Log in to the NVSP portal 

1. Click on ‘Apply online for registration of new voter/due to shifting from AC’ 
2. If new constituency has been chosen, then select Form 6 
3. If residential area has been shifted within the constituency, then select Form 8A 
4. Fill in the required details, such as name, date of birth, state, constituency, etc. 
5. Provide contact details, such as email ID, mobile number, etc.

How to Correct Date of Birth in Voter ID Details Online?

The following are the steps to change date of birth in voter ID: 

1. Log into the NVSP portal 
2. Select Form 8 
3. Enter the following details: 

1. Elector's Photo Identity Card Number (EPIC) 

1. Name 
2. Information related to Parliamentary Constituency or State or District Assembly 
3. Select date of birth option 
4. Enter date of birth as per Aadhar 
5. Upload age proof documents, such as Aadhar card

2. Click on ‘Submit’ to complete the process 

How to Check Name in Voter List via SMS?

The following are the steps to check name in voter list via SMS: 

1. To check your name in the voter list via SMS you need the EPIC number or the Election Photo Identity Card Number 

1. Send an SMS containing this EPIC number from registered mobile number 
2. Send the SMS in the format SPACE to 1950 
3. The voter will get various information on their mobile number regarding voter’s name in the list, such as: 

1. Polling booth information 
2. Absence or confirmation of the name from the voter list 

How to Check Name in Voter List via Helpline Number?

The following are the steps to check name in the voter list via helpline number: 

1. To confirm the name in the voter list, contact the ECI on the helpline number 
2. The helpline number is available 24x7 and the number is 1950 
3. Voters can check their names in the list via address, name, information about the polling booth, EPIC, etc. 

Note: Any call or SMS to 1950 will be charged as per existing tariff plans. 

Reasons for a Missing Voter’s Name in the Voter List

Here are the reasons for missing the voter’s name in the voter list: 

1. Voter’s name would be missing if voter does not fulfil eligibility criteria 
2. Name would be missing if voter registered their names just before the election 

1. Change in constituencies may result in missing voter’s name in the voter list 
2. Avoid applying for a new voter ID card or make changes three weeks prior to the polling date as that would cause a missing name in the voter list 

What Should You Do When Your Name is Missing from the Voter List?

Here are the steps to check your name and submit Form 6 in case your name is missing in the list: 

1. Visit National Voter Services Portal's Electoral Search page (NVSP) 

1. click on 'Search by EPIC number' 
2. In case you do not have EPID number, click on 'Search by details' 
3. The name and other details will be visible 
4. In case name is missing, you need to register again 
5. To register, fill in Form 6 

1. Submit the form to the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of the Assembly Constituency 
2. To submit Form 6, log on to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) website (www.eci.nic.in) 
3. Click on 'Online Voter Registration' 
4. To obtain username and password, sign up 
5. Upload the following: 

1. Passport sized photograph 
2. Proof of residence 
3. Proof of age 

After completing the process, the name will be updated in the list which you can check through mobile app 'Voter Helpline', SMS, or by clicking on ‘'Check your Name in the Voter’s List'.
