Silver Rate Trend in Gujarat

What Decides the Silver Rate in Gujarat

  • Global rate. Silver trades in dollars worldwide, and Gujarat's price follows that benchmark within the day.
  • Currency. A softer rupee against the dollar pushes up the landed cost of imported silver.
  • Duty and licensing. The 15% import duty took effect on 13 May 2026, and silver bar imports now need a licence.
  • Factory demand. Gujarat's textile and chemical units are heavy users of industrial silver, so their buying adds to jewellery demand.
  • GST, at 3%, sits on top of the rate shown here and is charged only at the point of sale.

How to Work Out the Price of Silver Jewellery in Gujarat

1.  Start with the weight of the piece and multiply by today's rate to get the base silver value.

2.  The jeweller then adds making charges, set as a percentage of the value or a flat rate per gram depending on the shop.

3.  GST at 3% applies last. Ask to see it itemised on the invoice, since making-charge GST can be billed differently.

Example: silver value ₹1,000

Amount

Silver value

₹1,000.00

Making charges at 12%

How to Check Silver Purity in Gujarat

  • Read the BIS mark on the piece: it names the metal ('SILVER') and states the grade, such as 925.
  • From September 2025, look for the six-digit HUID laser-marked alongside the hallmark.
  • Scan or type the HUID into the BIS Care app to pull up the registered details.
  • Because hallmarking is optional for silver, an unmarked item isn't necessarily fake — but insist on a bill naming the weight and purity regardless.

Silver Loan Against Jewellery in Gujarat

Silver jewellery can now be pledged for a loan in its own right, not just gold. The lender sets the loan amount against the market value of your silver, based on its purity. From 1 April 2026, RBI directions fix the maximum share of that value a lender can advance:

Loan amount

Maximum loan-to-value

Up to ₹2.5 lakh

85%

₹2.5 lakh to ₹5 lakh

80%

Above ₹5 lakh

Ways to Invest in Silver in Gujarat

  • Coins and bars from a bank, MMTC outlet or jeweller, priced by weight and purity — simple to buy, but you carry the storage risk.
  • Jewellery, worn and gifted widely, though making and wastage charges eat into its resale value as an investment.
  • Silver ETFs, live in India since February 2022 and SEBI-regulated, held in a demat account with no physical handling needed.
  • Unlike gold, there is no bond-style silver product; ETFs are the closest paper alternative.

  • Demand for silver rises around Dhanteras (6 November 2026), Diwali and the wedding season.

Buy from a trusted jeweller, ask for a bill that states the purity and weight, and compare the 10-day trend before you decide.

FAQs on Silver Rate in Gujarat

1.What are the factors that are affecting the silver prices?

The various factors that are affecting the silver prices in Gujarat are the industrial demand for the metal, the investment demand and the ancillary costs related with purchasing of silver.

2.What is the lowest weight of silver coins available for purchase in Gujarat?

Customers in Gujarat can buy silver coins with a weight of as little as one gramme and a purity of 999.

3.Where can a person purchase silver from Gujarat?

Silver can be purchased through certified e-commerce dealers, jewellers, or even banks.

4.Why should I invest in silver coins and bars in Gujarat?

When it comes to investing your money in various assets, silver is an excellent choice because it provides a good return on investment. When comparing the price of silver to the price of other asset classes, it is clear that it is not yet overvalued. It's a good idea to verify the current silver rate before investing in silver.

5.How much would a given weight of silver cost me in Gujarat right now?

Take the per-gram figure shown on this page and multiply it by the weight you want, in grams. That gives the base value of the metal itself — the shop will then add its making charge and GST on top before quoting you a final price.

6.Is GST already built into the silver rate shown here, or added separately?

It's added separately. What you see on this page is the metal's value alone; GST at 3%, plus the jeweller's making charge, comes on top when you actually buy. Ask for these to be broken out on your bill rather than folded into one number.

7.What's the practical difference between 999, 925 and 800 silver in Gujarat?

The number tells you how many parts in a thousand are pure silver. 999 is near-pure and goes into investment bars and coins. 925, sold as sterling silver, mixes in 7.5% other metal for strength and is what most jewellery is made from. 800 carries more alloy still and turns up in artefacts and everyday utensils.

8.Are there Silver ETFs available to Gujarat investors?

Yes. Silver ETFs have been available in India since February 2022 and are regulated by SEBI. They are bought and sold through a demat account, so there is no need to store physical silver. This is different from a few years ago, when no Silver ETF existed in India.
